Born and raised in Québec, Odette moved to Vancouver, B.C., after completing college and she graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Diploma in Translation. Family ties and attractive career opportunities brought her closer to home some years later. In Toronto, she dedicated the next 12 years to a career with the Ontario Government Translation Service and the Government of Canada’s Translation Bureau. Odette has been a certified member of the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario since 2000. In addition, she is now registered with OTTIAQ (Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés du Québec) and, thus, also enjoys professional recognition in the province of Quebec. She has been working independently as a translator for 15 years.

Region: In the green belt surrounding Quebec City, the impressive Montmorency Falls and peaceful Île d’Orléans are scenic attractions that you may want to visit. Outdoor activities abound in the region of Quebec and include hiking, alpine skiing, river sports, mountain climbing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and fauna observation. The area has several parks which make perfect playgrounds for outdoor enthusiasts. In winter, everything becomes enchanted and the snowy Old Québec looks like fairyland!
Location: The retreat is in the heart of Old Quebec City, across from the Esplanade Park. The Library Morrin Centre (www.morrin.org/en/what-is-the-morrin-centre)is a three-minute walk on Chaussée des Écossais.
Closest airport: Jean-Lesage Internatioanal Airport (a 15-20 minute taxi ride).
