Formal retreats are 7 days in length over the winter months Jan, Feb, Mar and April making it an ideal place for those escaping winter cold.

Our retreat is located in a picturesque, safe, fishing village - a short taxi ride north of the Manzanillo ZLO airport where you will be a short walk to the beach and great restaurants, music and cafes.
Casa Creatividad - Escape to creative happiness - is a brand new facility with three levels and three palapa and hammock areas. At the garden level is the Grand Palapa with a large polished dance floor, overlooking the garden.
Our classes will be held outdoors in perfect climate with a breakfast spread of local fruits, baked goods, cereals, juices coffee, tea and iced Jamaica tea. Yum!
Upstairs, are deluxe guest rooms with large private bathrooms, your own writing desk, coffee area, two palapas, hammocks and look-out area. Across the street are other rooms to enjoy your stay.
Classes are open to all levels of experience for those wanting to write novels, memoirs, non-fiction books and other long-form genres (including screenplays).
There is a maximum of 10 persons in a class. We keep group small size so quality and individual attention is high. Participants often come a day or two early so they are refreshed for morning class.
Kathrin Lake, author of Writing with Cold Feet, is our resident writing coach and host. She has over 20 years experience teaching writing in a way that has students raving. Author of several books, she is also an award winning playwright, screenwriter, editor who has helped hundreds successfully write their first published works.

Region: The region is a picturesque, safe town that has a perfect climate favored by expats from Canada and U.S.A. You will find it easy to walk to the beach, cafes, restaurants and other terrific amenities.
Location: The retreat is in a coastal town 30 minutes to the north of the Manzanillo airport, so a taxi ride away.
Closest airport: ZLO Manzanillo, Mexico. 25-30 minutes by cab.
PVR Puerto Vallarta is a 4-5 hour bus ride away.
Payment terms: $200 deposit required in advance. The balance for retreat fee only will be needed by December 15th or approximately 5 weeks before the retreat.
Cancellation policy: Retreats can be cancelled up to 30 days before the event for a refund of the deposit. If you have paid for more than the holding deposit less than 30 days to the event, your payment for the live event is only transferable to another date.
